[opensuse-factory] arrow keys not working in mc in konsole
Tumbleweed 20180203 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.25.run GTS450 just noticed that the arrow keys no longer work in mc in konsole 17.12.1. they work fine in xterm/uxterm/fxterm and a tty and I have not noticed a problem outside of mc -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Unrelated to konsole though. There is another thread about this already, titled "mc and xterm-256color in recent TW"... https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2018-02/msg00195.html Apparently, if you set TERM=xterm-256color in xterm it would have the same problem, and setting TERM=xterm in konsole should "fix" it. Kind Regards, Wolfgang
I'm using TERM=konsole when I need to use iftop (otherwise it is broken) :-) -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

This shouldn't be necessary since the last konsole update anymore, that should fix the ncurses problems in konsole with XTERM=xterm(-256color)... ;-)
