Yes, but I had to use non nomad version of compiz in the xgl build
service Any chances you could find more details? I did not see other versions that 0.7.8 in the build service... Erik. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Yes, the XGL build service although still 0.7.8 does not include the NOMAD patch, which seems to be causing the issues that you're experiencing. Thanks. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
Pardon my asking and perhaps ignorance but what is this NOMAD patch? All I can find Googling is a ton of problems people have with it but no actual explanation of what it is or does? -- Matt Sealey <matt@genesi-usa.com> Genesi, Manager, Developer Relations Ben Kevan wrote:

To put it easily it will be the method that allows you to rdp to a Linux box. See xrdp packages (although I don't think it'll be quite ready for full production at the time 11.1 is released, but they are banking on it being ready for SLED 11). There are quite a few open bug reports with it and it's workings with pam and kdm and other basic funtionality issues. Hope that gives the most basic of overviews of what "NOMAD" is.. And http://en.opensuse.org/Nomad can help learn a bit more about it. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I guess the follow up to that is when did we start needing desktop effects in rdesktop connections? I hardly see how a one or two meg broadband connection will support that functionality anyway. 20 meg -- maybe, lan OK. But why desktop effect over a remote connection anyway? It seems like at TV in the shower, and thus far for compiz it has been quite like the iceberg for the titanic... -- David C.
