[opensuse-factory] Resizing windows
HI Is this the correct way for the resizing to work? If i drag the the top corners of the window up, the cursor changes and moves to outside the window so disappearing out of view when you get to the top. i would have thought the cursor would need to be rotated 180% to point in the correct direction of travel and positioned in the window corner. Dragging down via the bottom corners of the window works as i expected it to, i.e. the cursor changes and points in the direction of travel and stays within the corner of the window right to the bottom of the screen. regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I'm not sure if I understand your problem correctly. You mean the mouse cursor looks wrong if you move it over the top-left window corner? Might be a problem with the used cursor theme. Which one is it? I don't remember seeing something like this myself. It might happen though that the theme is not applied completely/correctly if you change it. That's an old bug in KWin (in KDE4 already). Logging out and in should fix that though (unless the cursor theme is broken/missing that particular shape of course). Regarding resizing itself, there should not be a change in how it works at all compared to KDE4. I'm not sure if I understand your problem correctly. its just a cosmetic issue for me
You mean the mouse cursor looks wrong if you move it over the top-left window corner? Yes, the cursor changes into 2 lines like a x-y axis with an arrow inside it pointing down into the window but the cursor is outside the window boundary. It looks strange because you are pushing the cursor upwards to make the window bigger.
Might be a problem with the used cursor theme. Which one is it? I don't remember seeing something like this myself. I am using the Breeze cursor theme.
It might happen though that the theme is not applied completely/correctly if you change it. That's an old bug in KWin (in KDE4 already). Logging out and in should fix that though (unless the cursor theme is broken/missing that particular shape of course). I have just changed it to the Breeze Snow and that gives a different cursor (not as nice but works better). So i changed it back to Breeze and now it has the same cursor as Breeze Snow.
Regarding resizing itself, there should not be a change in how it works at all compared to KDE4. true
Kind Regards, Wolfgang
so it looks like its "fixed" itself and your theory that it might have been borked in some way is true. Shame though because the cursor shape was a lot nicer than the one it has now.
