[opensuse-factory] [RC2] How can I update yast2-trans sources? how to make that tarball?

Hi, all, In RC2 release notes, It said all translation work is integrated. But actually it's not. YaST-trans freeze about 2 month ago. (I checked it today) Actually no one shares that info but there're some misleading info exists. In translation ml, coolo said all trans should be finished before August. So I finished my version at July 20th. But it didn't got merged. ( maybe my fault, I thought it would be merged automatically) So how can I update yast2-trans myself and push it into RC2 using maintenance request or something? Anyone knows the steps? There is no reason that we had a full translated version and asked users to use a half-done one. I nothing weird happens, I'm updating translation packages on Friday in the afternoon (German time). Often only those package where I'm aware of changes. Thus today I submitted desktop-translations, slideshow, and yast2-trans.

If you could help with packaging (SRs) that would be fine (there is the 50-tools/y2-prep-packages.sh script in the translation svn; the script is a little bit overkill, but it creates the tar such as yast2-trans-zh_CN-2.22.0.tar.bz2 nicely). Or just open a bug--then I do not forget about an update or a deadline. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, Karl, Where should "trans" directory be located? I guess you can find the tars in LL, e.g., zh_CN/yast2-trans-zh_CN-2.22.0.tar.bz2. Use the -l switch, if you need a subset of the available languages (maybe, in combination with -t); 50-tools/y2-prep-packages.sh -t -l 'ja cs zh_CN' Find some notes in 50-doc/readme.txt. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, Karl, I successfully generated a tarball. But I saw you've already done the work in YaST:HEAD. Thanks again! Marguerite -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for your feedback.
But I saw you've already done the work in YaST:HEAD.
That's why I initially said (it was a little bit hidden, though): I nothing weird happens, I'm updating translation packages on Friday in the afternoon (German time).
