[opensuse-factory] New Packages: Window manager
Hi all, I'm a new contributor, my first contribution is for the BSPWM window manager and its associated tool; SXHKD. BSPWM is a tiling window manager which is rather minimal but very powerful and configurable. It works by using a BSP tree to store tiles, this in turn gives it some unique functions such as parent/child selection, selection rotation, for example. Source: https://github.com/baskerville/bspwm Package: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:windowmanagers/bspwm SXHKD is an X hotkey daemon written by the same person. it is normally used with BSPWM but can also be used for other things (such as a hot key combo that calls a terminal and runs a series of scripts). It's very easy to configure and use. Source: https://github.com/baskerville/sxhkd Package: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:Utilities/sxhkd Both packages are easy to maintain and quite minimal. The author of bspwm has been trhowing around the idea of rewriting bspwm in Rust and also using Wayland/Weston but this isn't likely to happen in this year, or possibly at all. I intend to submit both packages to Factory, and from there to TW and Leap 42.2. Luke, Since you're new I just want to make sure you know the Factory => TW process is managed by the release team (via automation). Nothing for you to do. A new TW release is made several times a week typically and all the latest packages from factory get pulled in automatically. You will need it initiate a SR from factory to Leap 42.2 at the appropriate time.
