[opensuse-factory] Wiki: Please help with - Installation using images

Goodday, there is an wiki-page for installing without using any cd/dvd at all. However it requires some technical skills and the tutorial is rather long. For openSUSE-testing I used an DVD-image this time and it worked great. However, I had to find out myself how to get it done. For that matter I made an wiki-page and because I am noob I really want to ask you what should be editted. http://en.opensuse.org/Installation_using_images Remember: It haves to be Average Joe-mode. Think about anybody you know that does hardly know Linux (only a bit) and please give me some tips. Is this the one http://en.opensuse.org/Installation_without_CD
The title might be "Installation from hard disk using iso images" if you agree. By now it was necessary to unpack iso in normal subdirectory, or mount using loop device, and than from text mode select Instalation from hard disk. The instruction/parameter install=iso:device/iso-path is new to me. Can you point where to look for more details. Otherwise article seems to be OK. Little formating and, for instance, put warning in normal text (bold) before instruction will be more readable than present template warning. Otherwise there is all that new user will need. Probably more work needs the other article. For instance splitting in few smaller will make it easier to follow. Than your article can find place there as another method to use iso images directly, without burning. Now it is isolated and hard to find. In the mean time please look at http://en.opensuse.org/Portal and tell me what do you think. It is indexing project that should be easier to maintain than built in categories where wiki maintainer has to visit every article and add missing category. -- Regards, Rajko M. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
