You can still use rsyslog, just don't install systemd-logger package, it will make journal entries not persistent on disk anymore (/var/log/journal is now owned by systemd-logger and not systemd main package anymore). This way, if people wants only journal to handle their logs, syslog dependencies are still furfilled and if they want to use a syslog implementation, they still can and won't complain about logs being recorded twice on disk. -- Frederic Crozat <fcrozat@suse.com> SUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The problem is that rsyslog does not provide sysvinit(syslog); only systemd-logger provides it. So installing rsyslog will force systemd-logger to be removed and will also cause all other packages that need sysvinit(syslog) to be removed. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
