[opensuse-factory] RC1 light and shadow
Hi, I just installed RC1 on my Lenovo Thinkpad T60, with KDE 3.5 as default desktop. My experience: - During installation, I set the default boot entry to my old 10.3 installation. This resulted in having "default=2" in my menu.lst. But upon first boot, both 10.3 entries (default and fallback) have disappeared, and guess which OS was booting by default... Win XP!!! (OMG!) Anyone else had problems with the installer not copying previously existing entries? - First boot does not use kexec anymore. It did for beta 1 or beta 2 on this machine... has kexec been dropped? - There's a typo (possibly instroduced by the spell-checker in the german translation of the slideshow during installation - on the slide that announces OpenOffice it says that openSUSE ships the most recent office suit (which might be a nice feature btw, but hard to implement when installing from the internet ;) ) - The branding looks super-cool. The cloth-like texture during installation does a good job hiding gradient artefacts on 6-bit panels. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the kdm login screen: It looks kind of weird because the gray gradient shows blocky artefacts and also colors. Of course, I understand it's too late now to change the branding for the login screen. Otherwise, I'm very happy so far with RC1. Kudos to all of you!
