[opensuse-factory] 10.3 CD1 Gnome Beta1 issues
Today I put my play disk back in my laptop (IBM r51) to try CD1 B1 and it still does not have the kernel modules to configure the IPW2200 from Intel (same issue as beta7), I look at the Intel wireless firmware offerings and the ipw2200 is not there, I can not delete the semi-configured card, I can not install a duplicate. so I'm back on SLED10SP1 which definitely not a problem ;) -- James Tremblay Director of Technology Newmarket School District Newmarket,NH http://en.opensuse.org/Education "let's make a difference" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I connected My laptop to a wired network added the "community repositories" and then installed the "IPW-firmeware" module which then allowed me to configure the wireless nic. Should I bug-report this? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Yes and not. The GOME CD is still oversized and they look how to kick out some stuff that is not essential. Probably good workaround might be what you did, but integrated in the system as default, ie. additional repositories should be included withut asking for any manual intervention, so that user can find missing stuff by simply going online. -- Regards, Rajko. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

You didn't read the most annoying bugs or the announcement before you installed beta1? Greetings, Stephan Stephan, I can find no direct indication that wireless would not work upon installation, It is however a minor problem and surely would be addressed before release. fxrsliberty --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
