openSUSE-Factory hp color laserjet 2840

I'm having problems with my HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M176n too. It worked great in 13.1 but not anymore after moving to a fresh install of 13.2 (hplip 3.14.6).

The printer is detected (via usb) and configured fine by both hplip and YaST. And hplip reports everything should be configured and working correctly - also the required proprietary plugin is installed correctly according to hplip.

However when configured with hplip it will not print anything. The printer receives the job, and says "printing..." on the LCD display, but it doesn't even try to print.

And I have six boxes using this printer, five successfully of which three are windows and one TumbleWeed and one openSUSE-Factory. Go figure. I will check the ppd files on the linux boxes, a simple thing to replace.

Three of my four linux boxes now will not print. (13.1 server) hplip-3.13.10-4.2.x86_64 (openSUSE-Factory) hplip-3.14.10-120.4.x86_64 (openSUSE-Factory) hplip-3.14.10-113.14.x86_64 (TW in VBox) hplip-3.14.10-113.2.x86_64 Prints from apps but will not print from hp-print On my main desktop, jobs do not even show up in the print queue or status page on hp-device-manager. tried a ppd file circa 2012 and that did not work.

In particular you usually need the filters that are no longer provided by CUPS which are now upstream at OpenPrinting.org that openSUSE provides in the cups-filters RPMs.
