[opensuse-factory] Samsung Q11 vs. Install

Hi, I got a really olf Samsung q10. 933 MHz, 384MB, DVD extern via ieee1394, USB1.1 only. I want to give it a try as a "netbook". Works well: I can boot from some USB sticks and got the live cd up. I can install from within running live cd. Problems: I cann ot use the optical medium, as there is no ieee1394 driver in the kernel. I cannot select "Install" during boot, as the system hangs shortly after selecting install (from USB) I cannot use my old wlan (Dlink) -> no really free driver (Firmware is not "open") :-; Known Problem for all. -- Joachim -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

The -extras package has been eliminated on openSUSE, so that can't be it. It's still =m so there should be a module for it. What happens if you do modprobe ieee1394? Can you attach the output of hwinfo? -Jeff -- Jeff Mahoney SUSE Labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
