Re: [opensuse-factory] Wireless issues with Broadcom 11.3-RC1
Robert Schweikert 06/30/10 6:02 AM >>> Hi,
I installed RC1 from the GNOME live CD on a Dell Mini 10. Install worked fine but I am having issues with the wireless connection. The b43-fwcutter apparently got installed automatically and then I just ran /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware. After reboot I was able to connect to my network via NetworkManager. The problem is that the connection is not stable. As soon as I try to use the connection, i.e. access the web for example, the wireless connection goes down and get reset. I am uable to reconnect to the network unless I run rcnetwork restart. However, the connection goes down once again when I try to use it. The disconnect of the wireless network appears to coincide with the following message in the kernel log: wlan0: no IPv6 routers present After disabling IPv6 through YaST and reboot the issue remains. Examining the log file provides the following hint: wlan0: authentication with MAC_ADDRESS timed out => Do you use broadcom-wl driver? Also I get complaints that I supposedly modified /etc/resolve.conf, but I didn't. The complains persist after I copy the generated file resolve.conf.netconfig over resolve.conf => This already be fixed, bnc#595708, bnc#544195. One more note, when I was using 11.2 on the same machine I used the broadcom-wl driver and not the bc43 driver. I did not have any issues with wireless on 11.2 Help is appreciated.
