[opensuse-factory] openSUSE:13.2 is disabled
Hi, I still didn't lock it, because the ports still want to finish some stuff, but actually since Tuesday we didn't build a thing in there any more for the actual release. I'm preparing the mirrors now Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Stephan, I see that the i586 target has different build number (54) than the x86_64 one (51). Is this a change in release workflow, or the actual release is just one build number? (Just wondering, I am not asking which one ;) Best, Angelos -- Angelos Tzotsos Remote Sensing Laboratory National Technical University of Athens http://users.ntua.gr/tzotsos -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The released ISOs will contain different build numbers, indeed. The file name is just openSUSE-13.2-DVD-x86_64.iso though For Factory we dropped build numbers and just copy all ready builds once we release a new snapshot - and we did the same for 13.2. The build number we tracked was the build number of the FTP tree and e.g. GM is build38 on openqa. But we track that purely by means of filenames, not actual build number. I removed the redirect to factory-snapshot now, so that zypper dup from RC1 will get you 13.2. Have a lot of fun! Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you, Stephan! 13.2 is working wonderfully! (A couple of little 'annoyances' - re repositories - which will disappear as usual once 13.2 is officially released.) One little annoyance here is that Yast (GUI) causes a kernel panic! Iinstalled openSUSE 13.2-RC1 on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, which had previously been running 13.1. I did a clean install, using btrfs on the system partition, but retaining an encrypted /home partition (ext4). Today I did zypper dup from RC1. I have not added any extra repositories. The machine boots OK, through the encryption key input to the KDE login dialog. The desktop looks as expected, and the apps I've tried (gkrellm, konsole, krusader, thunderbird, firefox) all work. When I try to start YaST in graphical mode, it asks for the root password, then goes into a kernel panic. Eventually the machine reboots itself. I can take a photograph of the kernel panic messages. Where should I send it? Intel graphics? I had one occurrence of a kernel crash with 13.2 beta and xf86-video-intel installed. I had other video issues that caused me to uninstall. No errors since then. So I can't say with absolute confidence the Intel driver triggered the crash, but it is the only obvious candidate. http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=899610 Greg -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. My symptoms are not the same as yours, but I suspect you're right about the problem being related to graphics. I noticed some smearing on movement of the mouse while composing this message. In response to a user report I've fixed the download link on the 13.2 portal page (that the counter redirects to) to point to the 13.2/iso/ directory rather than taken-down 13.2-RC1/iso/. The release notes still link to "INSERT HERE".
