[opensuse-factory] Reminder: openSUSE Leap 42.2 Beta 2 submission deadline Thursday
Hi, This is a reminder for the upcoming openSUSE Leap 42.2 Beta 2 submission deadline. Please submit your packages latest Thursday, September 15 to openSUSE:Leap:42.2. If you've submitted already weeks ago but your submission wasn't accepted yet, please check why. The most common reasons are - Build failure in Staging:adi. All package submissions are built isolated in openSUSE:Leap:42.2:Staging:adi:<number> to make sure the submission is complete. Sometimes that fails due to different configurations in the devel project for example. Sometimes other packages need to be grouped into the same project. Let us know if your package needs manual help there. - Factory review. The 42.2 submissions wait for the submission to Factory in order to pass reviews there. Sometimes leaf packages have to wait a long time due to low priority. If your Factory submission is stuck e.g. in legal review for too long and it affects 42.2 let us know please, so we can adjust priorities. - Maintainer review. Packages submitted by someone other than the Factory package maintainer(s) have a review set to the devel project/package to ask for permission by the Factory package maintainer. If there's no reply for too long, try adding a comment in the request to get some attention or talk to the project maintainers directly. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.com/ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

What about those packages that are in openSUSE:Leap:42.2:Staging:adi:<number> or openSUSE:Factory:Staging:adi:<number> since some time, have build successfully and seem not to move forward?
- Factory review. The 42.2 submissions wait for the submission to Factory in order to pass reviews there. Sometimes leaf packages have to wait a long time due to low priority. There is generally a reason - like some package in the group pending a review. You can always get the overview of one staging project using the link format https://build.opensuse.org/project/staging_projects/openSUSE:Factory/ad i:<n> for Tumbleweed and https://build.opensuse.org/project/staging_projects/openSUSE:Leap:42.2/ adi:<n> For Leap 42.2 There, you get an overview what packages are in, which reviews are pending and what might be holding it off. If you think about a specific adi that is stalled despite everything and you think this is wrong, bring the one to our attention and we will see to get it moving. Cheers, Dominique
Thanks for the pointer, mine is stuck on legal https://build.opensuse.org/project/staging_projects/openSUSE:Factory/adi:16 https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/420831 I've made the mistake to think that making gcompris-qt available to factory/Tw would goes quite quickly, but now I guess it will no be possible to have it also on 42.2 Too bad, and I admit a bit demotivating for non 8 hours pro day packagers ;-) -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

There is still plenty of time for new packages to be accepted missing this deadline just means your package won't be in this beta, hopefully it will make it in time for the next. Non core packages like yours often get accepted up to the release candidate, its not ideal but nothing to worry about yet. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adeliade Australia, UTC+9:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
