[opensuse-factory] canonical way for mysql database creation?
Hi list, is there a canonical way to provide easy setup for application databases say in mysql? I have invested some time into a suse-centric commandline installer for horde 4 and it works sufficiently well to be included with the distribution soon but it only works if the user already created a database and a users. Before I go ahead and reinvent the wheel, how would yast or KDE or whoever uses databases as backends do it? I would not want to make assumptions about free database/user names or how (if) the db admin user's password is set. -- Ralf Lang Linux Consultant / Developer B1 Systems GmbH Osterfeldstraße 7 / 85088 Vohburg / http://www.b1-systems.de GF: Ralph Dehner / Unternehmenssitz: Vohburg / AG: Ingolstadt,HRB 3537 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
best solution would be to look into amarok way of starting mysql as it is using it as backend. On Wed, Sep 7, 2011 at 6:56 PM, Ralf Lang <lang@b1-systems.de> wrote:
