[opensuse-factory] Why no KDE3 LiveCD?
Considering that fact that KDE v4 isn't quite as mature as KDEv3.x, why did the devs decide to make the LiveCDs with just KDE v4? After installing from the live cd and then trying to remove KDE v4 in favor of KDE v3.x, I was hit with way too many dependencies. I know that some of the KDE v4 packages have been incorporated into the KDE v3.x system, but there was no way to remove it. I had asked for CD media, and a KDE v3.x live CD would at least help out in that regard. But having to keep the full KDE v4 isn't something I would want to do on a lower resource system, so the LiveCDs are basically uselss to me. And, since v4.x will probably be in better shape for v11.1, I imagine that there are no plans for a KDE v3.x live CD? This isn't a rant about KDE v4. I just don't care for it, and if the current look is what we will be expecting in the future, I may have to look at other window managers. Lack of time and resources for making 3 installable live CDs. But this is an area where anyone can help (just try creating a kiwi config file that works). If this is something you'd be interested in, please feel free to get involved!
