[opensuse-factory] yast-proxy
I've noticed that the default install from the GNOME LiveCD for 12.2 BETA doesn't include YaST proxy module (yast-proxy); Is there any way this package could be offered in the default pattern? This can be somehow important! (At leas it is for me). It's also not installed from NET-KDE. This is not suitable for a production environment. Tom -- “What we do for ourselves dies with us. Tom,
Thanks for answering, and I really respect your opinion... But now I
have a question... other modules like Joystick, TV Card and friends
(even Novell corporate stuff) are really more suited to a 'production'
environment than a Proxy Module ? :)
I find hard to believe that a true production environment requires
'joy' sticks and TV Cards... but I do find acceptable the existance of
proxy servers (and I'm pretty sure they are more common the the
joystick and friends).
NM
PS: The proxy module was pretty much the only thing I used from
YaST... guess now hacking the /etc/sysconfig/proxy is the way :)

Hi Nelson I read Toms reply to mean that the current state of the NET install isn't very suitable for use in production.

Do you yourself a favor, remove it from SUSE Linux Enterprise and go tell their customers who nag that. Thanks you. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Come on guys. This was a bug, and it has been fixed already. susi:/ # rpm -e yast2-proxy error: Failed dependencies: yast2-proxy is needed by (installed) yast2-installation-2.22.7-1.1.noarch so everything should be fine now. susi:/ # rpm -q --changelog yast2-installation|head -4 * Wed Jun 06 2012 jsuchome@suse.cz - require yast2-proxy for 2nd stage (bnc#764951) - show a message if network config has failed (bnc#765129) - 2.22.7 The fix went into Factory on June 10th. -- Stefan Seyfried "Dispatch war rocket Ajax to bring back his body!" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't aware, though I found strange it
wasn't available (the reason why I asked for it).
