[opensuse-factory] yast package search not working?
I've just upgraded a box to current Factory. Now when I try to do a search via yast, it just returns to the main window. Known issue? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.9°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Probably https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=759433 Seems like the whole libzypp not being compiled with gcc 4.7 story being at the core of this. Probably https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=759433 Seems like the whole libzypp not being compiled with gcc 4.7 story being at the core of this. exactly... or at least this is the claim... there is some work on the libzypp part. as workaround zypper works...

zypper -sd <string> String can be any portion of what you are looking for. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, that does the job. (zypper se <string>) -- Per Jessen, Zürich (10.3°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Thanks, that does the job. (zypper se <string>) but that implies you know what you are searching for... zypper se if you have no idea... zypper se -s if you want versions and repo source

Ah yes, the old fingers thinking faster then the brain. I often use zypper se -d <string> to search the description as well. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
