[opensuse-factory] printers
Hey Group; How many people are having problems with non HP USB printer that frequent this list. I have a NON HP printer that is made by Brother (works perfectly according to Linuxprinting.org) that totally fails. Yet /var/log/cups/files shows very little useful and USB shows it is available (hwinfo --printer). My brother is also having problems with a printer that used to work. Mine works in fedora 12 and his works in that Redman stuff. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@comcast.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Gizmo: bmw_87kbike / via Skype: n5xwbg BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

What distro are you using? I'm using a Brother HL-1440 laser printer without problems. This is an old printer with only parallel connection which I don't have on my laptop. Had to get a usb>parallel cable. It was recognized during installation of openSUSE 11.3M1 but the printer cache was not created. Had to create one in printer configuration. -- Thanks, Tom (retired penguin) openSUSE 11.3M1 x86_64, KDE 4.4RC1 Kmail 1.13.0, FF 3.6 linxt@comcast.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
