[opensuse-factory] Accounts, accounts, accounts
Hi folks, as I mentioned in an e-mail earlier this week ( https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-project/2020-05/msg00008.html ) SUSE and openSUSE are carving out remaining IT assets from Micro Focus this spring. This includes identity management (= user accounts). The existing system that you likely have been using is split into two distinct systems (and hence accounts): (1) One for openSUSE infrastructure and SUSE's development tools, think Bugzilla, Build Service (OBS), openSUSE Wiki,... (2) And one for SUSE's customers and partners, think SUSE Customer Center (SCC), Partner Portal,... Ad (1): Details on the transition for Bugzilla and other openSUSE systems are available at https://idp-portal-info.suse.com. That page is going to be updated regularly -> a good bookmark. Different services migrate one by one over the coming weeks, so be prepared to still use your "old" account in some places during that transition. Ad (2): If you have received an e-mail with the subject "New SUSE User Accounts - partners and customers" and all you care is openSUSE or the tools mentioned above, you probably can ignore that (unless you also are a SUSE customer or are interested in some of SUSE's other programs such as the SUSE Developer Program). https://xkcd.com/730/ :-> Gerald PS: Don't shoot the messenger; merely trying to jump in and share. I don't want to shoot the messenger, but it would have been very nice to receive this information before SUSE's e-mail regarding "New SUSE User Accounts - partners and customers" arrived (see also the discussion at https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2020-05/msg00116.html). Anyway, thanks for the clarification. Regards, Frank -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Account Preferences - Account Information redirects to Novell site. There are reports that E-Mail in bugzilla does not match E-Mail on idp-portal without any possibility to change it. at least the problem of Larry R appeared in our ticket tracker and I hopefully solved it. Changing email address is currently not possible, but it is on the ToDo list. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Was it not possible with Novell/Microfocus backend as well? Or it is new after migration? I may need to change e-mail in the near future; any ETA when it will be possible? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It seems I was wrong and it is already possible with https://idp-portal.suse.com/univention/self-service/#page=setcontactinformat... I even tested it with a dummy account. You might need to go through the "Verify E-Mail Address" workflow after the update. Also, it might be useful to log into bugzilla after the change, so it updates its user database - email addrs are the primary identifier there. I have also followed the process for switching. I get to the point where I save my profile, but nothing happens after that. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
