[opensuse-factory] new kernel did not finish install
Zypper -dup finally showed following info. An reinstall via yast did not do anything but wait. In the meantime it seems the new kernel is installed but should/could I happily use it? --------------------------------- Installation of kernel-default-4.5.0-7.1.g7f10552.x86_64 failed: Error: Subprocess failed. This space before "default" is kind of disturbing. I suggest to check if the file name is correct. If it is, you might want to run depmod -a 4.5.0-7.g7f10552-default and check (and possibly regenerate) your bootloader configuration.
warning: %post(kernel-default-4.5.0-7.1.g7f10552.x86_64) scriptlet failed, signal 2
Signal 2 is SIGINT which usually means process terminated using Ctrl-C. Did you do that? Michal Kubeček -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, I was responsible for the signal 2, after a wait from close to half an hour. Know that kernel install can take some extra time but decided that 30 minute were excesive ;) -- Linux User 183145 using Tumbleweed on a Pentium IV System : Linux 4.5.0-5.g8cf0ce6-default Distro : openSUSE 20160405 (x86_64) Desktop: KDE Frameworks: 5.20.0 and Plasma 5.5.5 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Can't blame you. :-) But next time you might want to check what command is blocked and what is it waiting for before you kill it. This information could be useful for finding the problem (and solution). The least I can say is that this is not TW's kernel -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. Knurpht openSUSE Board Member openSUSE Forums Team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
