[opensuse-factory] [status report] openSUSE distribution, week 48
Hi! Sorry, I forgot to send it yesterday. There isn't too much to report though: * live CD saw another round, now that online updates are in better shape again. Now having a problem with gfx setup * driver update medium is kind of ready, I will upload it later for wider testing. I'm not yet sure how to spread it though. I guess a wiki page how to use it is needed * early testing of a snapshot release, possibly resulting in Alpha0 (we're not there yet, the gcc update is still causing some trouble) * public update test repos were announced, already found one regression. Yay! I have the feeling there is something I forgot, but I can't figure what it was. Anyway, if you have questions or want more informations on some topic, let me know. Greetings, Stephan Hi Stephen, When is OpenSuSe's next release ? I do OpenSuSe testing on Power architecture at IBM. I haven't seen any schedule at wiki. Can I get OpenSuSe QA testing strategy/Plan?

Hi Stephen, When is OpenSuSe's next release ? I do OpenSuSe testing on Power architecture at IBM. The Alpha phase will start pretty soon. We don't have yet a final schedule for openSUSE 11.0 but it will be in May-July '08 time frame. M I haven't seen any schedule at wiki. Can I get OpenSuSe QA testing strategy/Plan?

You haven't seen one because there is no schedule. As such there are also no Qa testing plan. The strategy is clear though: release early and often. We hope to get out an alpha release at least every month (with the great exception of december where the holiday season does not allow it). And at one point we get a schedule (in relation to other products Novell is doing). And the target defined by the project is 6-9 months after the last release, so that makes april to july 2008.
