[opensuse-factory] /sbin/udevadm test /dev/usb/lp0
Is returning a error message "/sbin/udevadm test /dev/usb/lp0" The error is ls /sys/dev/usb/ related ls: cannot access /sys/dev/usb/: No such file or directory USB is missing I am not sure as to why but if /sys is like /proc then a kernel problem may be the problem. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@comcast.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Gizmo: bmw_87kbike / via Skype: n5xwbg BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I am not sure as to why but if /sys is like /proc then a kernel problem may be the problem.
It's under /sys/bus/usb The output of "udevadm info --export-db|less" should point you in the right direction. After setting up a new rules file "udevadm --reload-rules" should be run. That shouldn't be necessary if you have a kernel with inotify enabled, which is in all of the openSUSE kernels. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Something else must have happened as I didn't see the device in /dev until I ran the command. # grep NOTIFY .config CONFIG_I2O_LCT_NOTIFY_ON_CHANGES=y CONFIG_FSNOTIFY=y CONFIG_DNOTIFY=y CONFIG_INOTIFY=y CONFIG_INOTIFY_USER=y # l /dev/softrock lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2010-06-10 15:37 /dev/softrock -> bus/usb/002/013 Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
