Question: How do you rebuild mkinitrd so it loads in the RS780_pfp.bin file ? I encountered bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=596268 Its a mkinitrd issue as indicated by the logged bug. # find . | grep -i RS780_pfp.bin ./lib/firmware/radeon/RS780_pfp.bin ./lib/firmware/2.6.34-rc4-5-desktop/radeon/RS780_pfp.bin The startup error message was [ 2.880555] [drm] Loading RS780 Microcode [ 2.880560] platform radeon_cp.0: firmware: requesting radeon/RS780_pfp.bin [ 62.880180] r600_cp: Failed to load firmware "radeon/RS780_pfp.bin" [ 62.880262] [drm:r600_startup] *ERROR* Failed to load firmware! Its a mkinitrd issue as indicated by the logged bug.
You need a new mkinitrd package from the Base:System buildservice repository as indicated in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=596268#c13 Chances are that the package has been accepted to Factory meanwhile.
