[opensuse-factory] KnetworkManager + Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG wifi connection KO after smart [factory] upgrade
Hello all I installed openSUSE-10.3-Beta1-DVD-i386 on my T40 Thinkpad when it first came out and was quit impressed (especially with the wireless connection which was configured to automatically start at boot) # basic network settings User Controlled with NetworkManager Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection via DHCP Enable Device control for Non-root User via KInternet ipw2200 Authentication Mode WPA-PSK WIRELESS_MODE='Managed' Last night I ran smart update && smart upgrade (using my wifi connection) After downloading and installing some 1000+ rpm from factory I rebooted only to find out that my Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection via DHCP no longer worked. Before doing this I documented my yast2 lan (KnetworkManager) settings just in case. Despite using the same settings I couldn't get the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network connection to work again. In the end, I finally reformated and reinstalled openSUSE-10.3-Beta1 (ran the update on 1st intall) and when I reboot I configured my Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG and it worked perfectly again. That got me out of hot water with my girlfriend I would like to know if anyone else had any wireless problems and/or KnetworkManager problems with the newer factory rpms?
