[opensuse-factory] Login problem since kernel 4.13
Hello list, Since kernel 4.13 / 4.14rc3 I am not able to login in text modus. Caracters ^@ appear at the login and password prompt automaticly. Automatic graphic login with sddm is possible. Text console with kernel parameter acpi=off works fine. Graphics system with acpi=off does not work. Any new text console in graphics modus has the same behaviour. Kernel up to 4.12.8 is o.k. Sytem Lenovo Yoga 500 Tumbleweed KDE Any hint would be helpfull Hans-Ulrich Beling Römerweg 7 63303 Dreieich -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Wild guess but as far as I know with Lenovo, Fn keys are set to the special laptop function keys instead of regular F keys. It's an option in UEFI and setting it to use regular F keys might help I think? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Of course, current systems cannot work properly with acpi=off. Could you grab dmesg from 4.12.8 and 4.13 / 4.14-rc (e.g. via network or from graphics)? Do not use acpi=off. You should create a new bug at bugzilla.suse.com with that output (and post the bug number here). thanks, -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
