[opensuse-factory] shutdown/restart in gnome returns to login when using kdm on 11.3 RC2

Hi, this is my first post and maybe this isn't a bug, and i'm doing something wrong amd i'm making a fool out of myself, so this is what i'm trying to understand: I install both gnome and kde 4 on an x86_64 machine with the 11.3 RC2. But i had this problem in 11.2 as well if my memory serves me correctly. The displaymanager is kdm. when i log in using the gnome windowmanager and want to reboot or shutdown the computer, it puts me back to kdm with the login prompt. I know the simple answer would be: use gdm; but shouldn't a shutdown/restart be possible when using gnome under the kdm displaymanager? kind regards, Natasha Ament -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

same in 32 bits here. One need to stop from the kdm screen. Not that difficult (did you notice the bottom left icons?), but not the expected action and it's not reasonable to switch to gdm if you happen to use both gnome and kde jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-support-the-Linux-Documentation-Project/3720... http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-fan-page-of-Claire-Dodin/106485119372062?v... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

gnome-sessions uses ConsoleKit for the shutdown/restart. I have no idea if this plays well with kdm, though. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
