[opensuse-factory] libqt-* package links in tumbleweed
Hi Greg, libqt4-doc-devel and libqt4-sql-plugins should point to libqt4 sources in Tumbleweed, not in KDE:Qt. Otherwise they can get out of sync (the fixed libqt4-doc-devel/sql-plugins links from TW to KDE:Qt still point to the latest liqt4 sources in KDE:Qt, not fixed ones). I've fixed it for now. However could you modify your scripts to not update these packages the same as for kernel-<non-source>? thanks, -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Ah, I didn't realize those packages were links, not "real" packages. Someone changed this in the KDE repo and didn't tell me :( thanks for fixing this up, and I'll go fix my scripts right now (note, they are in github if you want to do it yourself in the future...) thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Shouldn't you be linking to Factory versions, not to random OBS repos? Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

No, I pick specific OBS repos, as Factory usually has newer stuff than what I want in Tumbleweed. But I try to verify (with a few exceptions like the recent kernel package increment) that the version is already in Factory first. For some repos, this makes lots of sense (Samba, LibreOffice, etc.) as they maintain a "Stable" repo to pull from that is usally a full version behind Factory. But for others, it's usually the same package. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Tried now :). (/me not sure how much github pull rq works.) thanks, -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Worked great, thanks for the fix. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Somebody included my packages without asking me? ;-) Are we playing the blame game here? if you want stable (but boring), use KDE:Qt:STABLE, KDE:Qt is the development project for openSUSE:Factory, so you should relaly be using openSUSE:Factory instead, or link at least properly. Alternatively, you can use KDE:Qt47, which is a daily rebuild snapshot of the latest upstream git. Sorry, no, I didn't mean to imply that at all. I was just refering to a message a while ago on the kde list that said which packages were links, and which were "real" ones that I should use when setting up the KDE stuff in Tumbleweed. This has changed since then, which is fine, but is something that I missed.

It's now linked properly. I can point to openSUSE:Factory instead of KDE:Qt if you think that is best, and better for Tumbleweed at the moment. I only did it this was as that is what the KDE:Release:46 repo was pointing at, so I assumed it was tested in this manner, not in the openSUSE:Factory manner.
Alternatively, you can use KDE:Qt47, which is a daily rebuild snapshot of the latest upstream git.
As we rebuild LibreOffice enough these days, I think I'll refrain from that :) thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
