[opensuse-factory] Networkmanager 0.9.8.6 with bluez5
Hi all Yesterday, networkmanager-list@gnome.org announced Networkmanager 0.9.8.6 includes support for BlueZ 5 http://www.mail-archive.com/networkmanager-list@gnome.org/msg23450.html Per announcement:
This release is mostly the same as 0.9.8.4, but now includes support for BlueZ 5. (It also includes one bug fix and a translation update.)
Everyone is encouraged to upgrade to this new stable release. http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/NetworkManager/0.9/
So, I wonder if we will take this version in 13.1 RC1 ? thanks, Jeffrey -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Considering we committed to shipping BlueZ5, it would be wrong not to push for it. There several more components coming (bluedevil anybody; I hope their progress goes as expected). Dominiique, I would propose the following: If NetworkManager 0.9.8.6 will be taken into 13.1, then we should make also the decision that Bluez5 is the only Bluetooth stack that 13.1 will provide. Work is ongoing on bluedevil to make it work with Bluez5, but I don't know if this is going to be ready on-time. But, like you, I want to move forward and the more I think about I rather ship 13.1 with a broken bluedevil and fix it through maintenance updates, then to create more issues with creating a bluez4-compat package. As that bluez4 and bluez5 can not live together, this would cause bigger issues than a broken or half functional bluedevil. So I would vote to push whatever is related to Bluez5 and fix bluedevil later.
