[opensuse-factory] Missing kernel-syms and wron Kernel headers in dvd 11.0b1
Tried to rebuild madwifi source to get online, because kernelmodul ath5k doesn't work with my card. Unfortunately I can't rebuild madwifi Package because of missing kernel-syms on dvd and wrong kernel headers (dvd provides 2.6.24) greetings Daniel --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

linux-kernel-headers package is used to build userland applications, the 2.6.24 is not nice but should not be a problem. kernel-syms should be on the online repositories, please get it from there, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Director Platform / openSUSE, aj@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

got it and installed it. then I rebuild madwifisrc.rpm from the 11,0 repo, blacklisted the kernel ath5k modul, restart system. After installing the madwifi.rpm and madwifi-kmp-default.rpm my system doesn't start. It stops after detection of fd0 that I doesn't have! With ctrl+c it goes on to firewall initialisation(1of 2) and stops again With ctrl+alt+del system is shutting down until it tries to shutdown wlan0. At this point I can only push restart button.
