[opensuse-factory] SQLite
The latest version is 3.6.18. In 11.1 is version 3.6.4. But in the milestone is version 2.8.17 (from december 2005, almost four years ald). I have to install the milestone again, because the new kernel (that does not boot) was installed. I saw that default sqlite(2) is installed and sqlite3 default not. I think the default would be better the other way around (as in 11.1). Also why would anyone want to install sqlite(2), that is almost 4 years old? Would it not be better to remove sqlite(2)? -- Cecil Westerhof Senior Software Engineer M Cecil@Decebal.nl LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/cecilwesterhof -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Good catch! that one is actually wrong... f-spot uses sqlite3 ! from the F-Sport FAQ: Q: Database problems A: Many misbehaviors of F-Spot can be headed to database problems. F-Spot uses a Sqlite db, usually placed in ~/.gnome2/f-spot/photos.db. Since latest releases (> 0.3.5) there have been problems with version 2 of the db, so v3 is required. Up to fixing it I would say :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

And here the rationale why f-spot Requires: sqlite2: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327122 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I think you are looking the wrong package, see sqlite3 one instead. Everybody looks at the wrong package.
I suggest to drop sqlite-2.x and rename sqlite3 -> sqlite cheers, JW- -- o \ Juergen Weigert paint it green! __/ _=======.=======_ <V> | jw@suse.de back to ascii! __/ _---|____________\/ \ | 0911 74053-508 __/ (____/ /\ (/) | _____________________________/ _/ \_ vim:set sw=2 wm=8 SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Any reason to not keep sqlite-2.x as sqlite2? We can then either rename sqlite3 to sqlite, or make sqlite3 provide sqlite.
