[opensuse-factory] Tests with installation of Beta 1
Today I did several test installations using the DVD ISO and KDE Live CD (x86_64), both on my desktop system as well as on my laptop. The most striking problem is that after booting the KDE Live CD (using the ISO image from CD and from a USB stick) there is no icon on the Desktop to click to install openSUSE 12.1 Beta 1. I consider this a showstopper. It is all due to the fact that a container with a Folder View of the folder Desktop is missing on the screen, which is in a bug report. Still a number of less important problems, for which there are bug reports, are present. One of these is that on the laptop it is possible to configure wireless, but after configuration (NetworkManager with SSID, WPA/PSK, passphrase) the network does not work during the network test. Only after finishing the installation, with some difficulty, a reboot is needed, one can configure the wireless interface in the networkmanager-applet. I also tried to boot the DVD image from a USB stick (16 GB). It did boot, but it did hang when configuring udev, so before YaST became active. -- fr.gr.
