[opensuse-factory] Warning for cryptsetup users
Hi, I just stumbled about this gentoo bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497654 If this applies to our libgrypt update too, this means encrypted roots are unbootable in factory. It would be good if someone tried on a VM and gave feedback about it. I installed 13.1 with fully encrypted root on LVM in a VM and updated it to Factory yesterday (zypper dup, then later removed all orphaned packages). It did still boot. I'm a bit hesitant to update and reboot my work laptop, with susi:~ # cat /etc/crypttab cr_sda7 /dev/sda7 none allow-discards susi:~ # cat /dev/sda7| file - /dev/stdin: LUKS encrypted file, ver 1 [aes, cbc-essiv:sha256, sha1] UUID: 3387ae99-507c-41eb-80c8-ee7b4a62353a though, we'll see if it crashes and forces me to try if this still works :-) Best regards -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It did not crash, but I wanted kernel 3.13-rc8, so I rebooted it anyway. It did work and I could mount my encrypted home. -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
