the name and purpose Name of the package is Autokey. AutoKey is a desktop automation utility for Linux and X11. It allows you to manage collection of scripts, and assign abbreviations and hotkeys to these scripts allowing you to execute them on demand in whatever program you are using. how long has it been around? it's been around since january 2008 how well has it been tested? As far as I can see is it good tested. what is the upstream project? Upstream project : http://code.google.com/p/autokey/ does it have a track record of security issues? Nope, but I has a issues page see this page : http://code.google.com/p/autokey/issues/list what is the purpose of having it in the distribution? I myself use it to put answers on a fora so people can get rid of malware. So you can use it for desktop automation so for task which are very often the same. who are its users? People who have task which are often the same as answers to a fora. what is the license?
