[opensuse-factory] new package: upmpdcli
Hi, I'm submitting new package upmpdcli in multimedia:apps to Factory, as well as its 2 lib dependencies libnpupnp and libupnpp in multimedia:libs OBS project: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/multimedia:apps/upmpdcli homepage: https://www.lesbonscomptes.com/upmpdcli/ git repo: https://framagit.org/medoc92/upmpdcli upmpdcli implements a robust UPnP AV / OpenHome renderer for playing audio using mpd as the backend for playback. It is used by several hardware manufacturers and distros geared toward audio use (Volumio, Moode, ...), often for running on the Raspberry Pi. upmpdcli can be controlled from any UPnP AV / OpenHome Control Point program. On Linux, there is upplay that is also in multimedia:apps but that I will submit to Factory a bit later. On mobile there is quite a bit of choice for suitable Control Points apps On macOS and Windows there is Linn Kazoo The main difference between UPnP AV and OpenHome is that for the latter the playback queue is stored on the renderer (upmpdcli) side meaning that playback can continue when the Control Point app is not running. OpenHome also allow to have several Control Points connected to the same renderer at the same time and show identical state. The project is very well maintained upstream with regular updates. It has also in-depth user documentation.
