[opensuse-factory] y2pmsh
Hi, is y2pmsh still supposed to work in 10.1? I do: [0] y2pm > source -s Known sources: [0] y2pm > Is this normal? I expected the equivalent to: # rug sl # | Status | Type | Name | URI --+--------+------+--------------------------------------------------------+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 | Active | ZYPP | SUSE-Linux-10.1-DVD9-x86-x86_64-10.1-0-20060715-103619 | cd:///?devices=/dev/hdd&alias=SUSE-Linux-10.1-DVD9-x86-x86_64-10.1-0-20060715-103619 2 | Active | ZYPP | SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates | http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/update/10.1 Regards, Andreas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org

the good part of y2pmsh is: it still uses the old package manager library not libzypp. there for the sources are not synced. you need to add them there on your own. darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org

Ah, ok. I thought it uses libzypp now. Will y2pmsh vanish, stay without libzypp, or ported to use libzypp in 10.2 and/or later? what i'm looking for is a tool with the power of y2pmsh or rug, that is not using zmd. zmd is a real problem on old hardware. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org

i don't know. that's why i'm asking: will y2pmsh remain in future releases or vanish? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org

It is mostly "unmaintained". I hope we will get at least a zypp cmdline tool, that has similar functionality, I think Duncan already has something started at least. Nothing stands again implemetning the functionality using zypp. Ciao, Marcus --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org
