[opensuse-factory] Thoughts about Kvantum engine in Factory.
Greetings. I'd like to provide Kvantum Qt engine to Factory (https://github.com/tsujan/Kvantum/tree/master/Kvantum). I use it on my own and have in my repo (home:kill_it) for a long time. One question is that what versioning we should use. Kvantum's Author tags releases not very often and I prefer to use bleeding edge from git master. We may have both versions of course, but if I will build git- version, what version format is correct? I selected default for git with release number, for examle: 0.10.9.git.1541459765.c854f89 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yeah, thnx, I've read it. Article points that package has to be pulled to some :devel project at first. Is this a necessary step? On 2018-11-16 11:29, Maurizio Galli wrote:

when you maintain a package you will see that in this case that "another level of indirection" via a devel project is even a precondition that you can actually work on your package without breaking it for your users when some change causes unexpected issues because you can notice such issues in advance within your devel project before your users who use your package from Factory get hit.
