[opensuse-factory] late package version update
Choqok 0.6.6 as currently part of 11.3 is going to break when Twitter removes HTTP BASIC auth on August 30*. Support for the new OAuth auth system is being worked on but is currently only taking shape in Choqok SVN, and uses a new external libqoauth. Choqok's network layer has changed significantly between 0.6.6 and the 1.0 beta code currently in SVN, making a backport likely a lot of work. Is it better to include the new libqoauth package and update 11.3 to the ("quite stable" - choqok author) 1.0beta1 code now, and online update when the oauth support is working, or leave as is and add libqoauth and choqok 1.0beta1 via online update? Released versions including Choqok (11.2 and newer) will need updates as well. Fixed and submitted to Factory already, it solved the problem inline.

I'd say not updating those packages would make openSUSE shine less, people may even get angry, claiming their favorite apps are broken. So, make it an exemption. -- Sascha Peilicke http://saschpe.wordpress.com

I know pino will break. There's no new version with a fix for this, though. I guess we'll use an online update when it'll be available.

As we need an update for 11.2 too, I would do this in a coordinated way in august and leave everything as it is for 11.3 at the moment. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
