[opensuse-factory] Problem (package name) in release notes
Hi, I found a problem in the release notes: https://www.suse.com/releasenotes/i386/openSUSE/13.2/RELEASE-NOTES.en.html http://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/13.2/ Package name should be "typelib-1_0-GtkVnc-2_0" instead of "typelib-1-0-GtkVnc-2_0" for fixing virt-manager missing dependencies. I reported it (as told on irc): https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=903998 And it is fixed in git, should be out in about two weeks. But this is very much, why we don't fix it right now? so anybody reading the release notes (or trying to fix virt-manager) read the right name (I used zypper se to find it and I couldn't until I noticed the typo). And why the version on opensuse.org looks ugly/unformatted?: http://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/13.2/ And why release notes page: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Release_Notes points to suse.com version (https://www.suse.com/releasenotes/i386/openSUSE/13.2/RELEASE-NOTES.en.html) not opensuse.org? I like SUSE (the company), but release notes should be on opensuse.org and should be fixed ASAP. I agree with you that it would be good if we could fix this in a more timely manner. And of course, I would not mind if somebody else would push out an update earlier. Maybe, I can work on it with the beginning of next week.
And why the version on opensuse.org looks ugly/unformatted?: http://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/13.2/
IIRC, the release notes package now also contains the "green" variant; at least, this one is build before packaging. It is probably needed to adjust the publishing script accordingly. I do not know which script extracts the files from the release notes package and copies them to the Web server.
And why release notes page: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Release_Notes points to suse.com version (https://www.suse.com/releasenotes/i386/openSUSE/13.2/RELEASE-NOTES.en.html) not opensuse.org?
That's the green variant--good to know that it exists. It's traditionally on suse.com (opensuse.org came later). I would not mind of someone would change https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Release_Notes as needed or would fit best.

I agree. But I cannot work earlier on it than next week. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
