[opensuse-factory] Default Application Settings in Systemsettings5
Hi Is there a template for the defaults? During one of the various tumbleweed/ plasma 5 updates, i've had default associations changed. If i check Applications/Default Applications/File Manager it now says to use Gwenview to browse directories instead of Dolphin - seems a strange setting Gimp also seems to have become the default viewer of png and jpeg images - an overkill to view images. There may be more but i've not been found them yet. i have changed them to more sensible defaults. Its like the old days of opensuse when i used to find default config files like ".mutt" files in all new users directories even mutt was never used by the user. :o) regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Ah! I noticed that yesterday and just assumed it was something spooky/super-clever inferred from the contents of the SD card by the Device Manager. I was in a rush to carry on and the whole thing was going to be overwritten, so didn't investigate further. Please share a fix if you find it :) Daniel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Daniel I don't think there is a fix, just a new "config" file with decent defaults in

The solution was posted by DimStar in the "Default mime-associations" thread: | If you maintain (or are interested in) any of those desktops, | please try to rename /usr/share/applications/mimeapps.list to | /usr/share/applications/gnome-mimeapps.list (same as glib will do | for you soon) and see what effects this has on your DE. Renaming that file will give you back the "normal" file associations. (Or just wait until the updated glib package enters Tumbleweed.)
