[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2019/08

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Week 8 is what we like to see in term of the number of snapshots: We managed to get out 4 snapshots (0214, 0215, 0217 and 0219), containing updates like: * MozillaFirefox 65.0 * Flatpak 1.2.0 * KDE Applications 18.12.2 * KDE Frameworks 5.55.0 * KDE Plasma 5.15.0 * Linux Kernel 4.20.7 * PackageKit should now transparently switch from ‘up’ to ‘dup’ on Tumbleweed * suse-module-tools: implemented fs blacklisting logic The stagings are currently busy forging/testing these changes: * openSSL 1.1.1: nodejs fails to build * binutils 2.32 * Removal of Ruby 2.5 from the distribution * PostgreSQL 11 made it back on the list * Linux kernel 4.20.10 and beyond Cheer, Dominique

I honestly do not know, but so far YOU and various DE update tools did the same on regular releases. Now YOU lags behind. Having the same workflow across all openSUSE flavors looks like a worthy goal. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Not exactly. The "DE update tools" (i.e. PackageKit) did/do show *all* package updates by default (same as "zypper up"), while YOU only shows maintenance "patches" from the update repo (same as "zypper patch"). As the latter does not exist in Tumbleweed (there is an update repo but that only contains normal packages if it's not empty), YOU is not useful at all there. Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
