Found the problem! Something is changing the mode to 640 and even worse Document/donn/ to something ooo3 can't access. I set it to 755 and OpenOffice no longer crashed at that point. Is this a security issue like fuse/selinux, and the "?" owner/user. On 04/23/2010 08:23 PM, Donn Washburn wrote:

Open a known good file of a week ago and up comes the needs repair error. I select the file hit Repair and ooo3 crashes.

Then one that came from a zypper up recently fails to work on a spreadsheet. It comes up with a boot splash, a start menu and select the spreadsheet option. ps ax out - /usr/lib/ooo3/program/soffice.bin -splash-pipe=5 up come the spreadsheet. Open file, it comes up with data and it locks up. The end Minimize it and call it back up. The frame is all that comes up with no data.
