[opensuse-factory] submitrequest for package R-base into Factory
Hi! After some cleaning of up the spec file it seems a good moment to put R-base into Factory. R is a programming language for statistical analysis and graphics. Its homepage is http://www.r-project.org . R is used widely throughout the statistical community both in academia and industry, more and more becoming a de-facto standard for implementing new statistical methods. In its very early days R even was included in SuSE releases, but may be more than 10 years since :-) Its current stable release is R-2.12.0. Since 1.5.1 I am the maintainer for SuSE/Open_SUSE rpm packages of R-base. These packages were created on my own machines until the buildservice emerged. (Thanks again to all involved in setting up and maintaining this incredible resource!) R can be found under science:R-base which is a link to devel:languages:R:base in the build service hierachy. R uses GPL. It is included in Fedora and Debian (and derivatives). If you need any other information I'll be happy to provide it.
