[opensuse-factory] Partioner blocks netinstall.
Hi, I don't know if the same partitioner is used on the install dvd, but if that is the fact, pc's with existing installs will not be able to change the, by the partitioner proposed config: Not able to import mountpoints: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=527410 And it does not recognise existing fs, so mounting manualy is no option. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=527411 Because of this faillure, i was not able to perform a netinstall from netiso 180, to M4. -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (M9.) Should both be caused by /sbin/blkid missing in the installation system. This has been reported a few times by various people but always without YaST logs. Please attach YaST logs for any problems concerning YaST. Unfortunately this is not possible because the install is not completed. If no partitions can be defined, one has to cancel the operation, and everything is lost. So, if the people who reported this were in the same situation, the could not send yast logs, because there arent any.... -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (M9.) (Now or never...) Luckily that's not true. You can start an xterm or switch to the console and save the logs via network or on some partition you mount manually, e.g. on a USB stick. See: http://en.opensuse.org/YaST/Bugs, http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST or even http://en.opensuse.org/Logging_YaST_to_USB_Stick_in_Installation How do you think we debug problems during installation? Telepathy? Crystal ball? ciao Arvin -- Arvin Schnell, <aschnell@suse.de> Senior Software Engineer, Research & Development SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

ciao Arvin
As a matter of fact i was wondering how indeed. A crystal ball would be nice, though i've never seen one that realy worked...,or you would need some spell that was unknown to me... Thnx for these tips! I will use them.. ;) -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (M9.) (Now or never...)
