AwesomeWM - Probably needs new/more maintainers
Dear Hackers and AwesomeWM users, This is your chance to shine. AwesomeWM has been failing to launch in the default config shipped inside Tumbleweed since mid February https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1182240 Some of the current maintainers already mentioned that they are no longer using AwesomeWM, which in turn also explains why they do not have much interest left to maintain it. And this is where you come in: as an active user of AwesomeWM you certainly know a thing or two more than most other users It would be appreciated by all users, especially the technically less versed ones, if you could help get the default shipped configuration back in shape, so that it works out of the box again. Thank you all for your help, Dominique

I am afraid that AwesomeWM is dying. I would love to use it (I am the Lua maintainer in openSUSE after all), but https://github.com/awesomeWM/awesome/issues/159 so I ended up using Sway and although I am not completely happy with it (using a tiling manager is really an acquired taste), it works a way better than having to deal with XWayland all the time.
