[opensuse-factory] ignored xorg.conf
In short, xorg.conf file contents that used to work, work no longer, unless copied or moved into xorg.conf.d/*monitor* and/or xorg.conf.d/*screen*. http://osdir.com/ml/kde-linux/2010-12/msg00007.html is one thread describing this manifestation on other systems, but I've seen it several times here, and threads on other mailing lists, with more than one video chip/driver involved. Yesterday it happened on mga in 11.4M4+ freshly dup'd. My question is where to file a bug, bugzilla.novell.com, or bugs.freedesktop.org, or both. I've found one about this subject on neither tracker. Right now I have no recollection whether I've seen this anywhere besides openSUSE. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." I went ahead and filed upstream: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32430 -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." An untested patch has been attached to that bug. Would it be possible to get OBS to build a test RPM using it, or would it be better to do as the patch provider recommended and file a Novell bug? I don't know anything about using OBS, and won't have time any time soon to figure it out. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." As always: if in doubt, file a bugreport at the Novell bugzilla, and include a link to the upstream bugreport. Please include a note that a patch is available.
