[opensuse-factory] FATE#313506 (multiple initrd builds each dup)

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=786318 refers to the inaccessible $SUBJECT. Can someone with access provide a progress report? According to the bug, target is 13.2. I'm in the middle of a 1126 package 13.2 zypper dup that is taking what seems like forever to do, because I neglected to remove all but one kernel first, and zypper seems to be spending about half its time running dracut to create initrds that will be recreated within mere minutes every time dracut, udev, mdadm, lvm2, multipath-tools and maybe others (kpartx?) are updated. Maybe what those lacking LVM and RAID should be doing is running rpm -e --nodeps and then locking all but dracut prior to every zypper dup. Why do so many packages unconditionally require these often unused packages? Yast2-network? Yast2-sudo? Yast2-users? Yast2-samba-server? Really? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Proverbs 16:21 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 ** a11y rocks!
