[opensuse-factory] "Leap"? 42.2 release due in barely 3 months
Even though I remember next to zilch about the naming discussion, I think I understand why 42.1 was named "Leap".... Announcements about 42.2 development are referring to it also as "Leap". openSUSE Leap is not a code name like the ones you mentioned from 11.2-13.2, its the name of the distribution so the correct representation would be. 13.1 Bottle 13.2 Harlequin 42.1 ????? 42.2 ????? The next release will therefore be openSUSE Leap 42.2 and like the last release probably won't have a codename, openSUSE Leap of course distinguishing it from openSUSE Tumbleweed. In the 5 years i've been part of the openSUSE community I have almost never heard of anyone refer to a release by its codename unlike other distro's such as Debian and Ubuntu where it seems much more common. Numbers seem easier to remember and figure out ordering. I keep reading it as 'Leaf'! It's partly due to my flaky eyesight but my brain may also be to blame in that it associates it with the original name 'Oak', so 'Oak Leaf', and the logo which looks to me like a stylised leaf.
