What is in /etc/default/grub_installdevice?
/dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000:00:04.0
That does not sound right. What "ls -l /dev/disk/by-path" shows? If you know when this worked last time it may be possible to find something in logs. Otherwise I would say just configure bootloader in YaST which should rewrite this file. If it still contains the same line, it is probably a bug.

The crusade continues. Ludwig's solution, that is pure vaporware still, bases/depends on transitioning of existing groups to the new scheme. Let me predict the outcome of this holy war: more and more group specifications get removed without any replacement. Richard "Of Course" the Lionheart won, and the distribution lost in a twofold way: a valuable classification for numerous packages is lost, and annoyed packagers resign/reduce their activities. If we would only learn from history: in the end, crusades dramatically raised pain on the people without reaching their goals. The crusade continues.
interesting detail: all those were not accepted by the corresponding package maintainer but by a project maintainer. And with quite some hurry, which makes this stunt certainly look like a concerted campaign... (Full disclosure: I also rejected such "remove group" submissions for packages where I was not package maintainer, only project maintainer).
Richard "Of Course" the Lionheart won, and the distribution lost in a twofold way: a valuable classification for numerous packages is lost, and annoyed packagers resign/reduce their activities.
I have the strange feeling that some people would be happy if most of the package maintainers just disappeared. The main goal nowadays appears to be that the processes are followed en detail, no matter how useful or useless they are and that decisions made in private FATE requests are implemented, no matter how obsolete. -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

As the abcde bugowner: I was also quite worried when this request was accepted basically the same minute. But as Martin is generally more active on this package than I am, I didn't feel the need to revert anything - but wait for the discussion to settle. As previously stated, I have a backup copy of all the groups (I can send it to you if you'd like) so there is no reason that we would currently need to keep them all in factory just so we can migrate them to something else later.
