[opensuse-factory] TW bumblebee: dev/dri/card0: failed to set DRM interface version 1.4: Permission denied
I'm testing GNOME live CD (20150909 snapshot) on a new notebook (Dell Latitude E5450) with hybrid grafic: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Broadwell-U Integrated Graphics (rev 09) 03:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM108M [GeForce 830M] (rev a2) bubmblebee was installed from repo. Attempt to start anything using discrete card results in [ 1064.755339] [DEBUG][XORG] (--) using VT number 7 [ 1064.755345] [DEBUG][XORG] (II) systemd-logind: logind integration requires -keeptty and -keeptty was not provided, disabling logind integration [ 1064.755351] [DEBUG][XORG] (II) xfree86: Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card0) [ 1064.755359] [ERROR][XORG] (EE) /dev/dri/card0: failed to set DRM interface version 1.4: Permission denied strace gives 9287 execve("/usr/bin/Xorg", ["Xorg", ":8", "-config", "/etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nouveau", "-configdir", "/etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.d", "-sharevts", "-nolisten", "tcp", " -noreset", "-verbose", "3", "-isolateDevice", "PCI:03:00:0"], [/* 18 vars */] <unfinished ...> ... 9287 open("/dev/dri/card0", O_RDWR|O_LARGEFILE) = 8 9287 ioctl(8, DRM_IOCTL_SET_VERSION, 0xbfee9600) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied) Notebook came with Ubuntu 14.04 preinstalled (still installed, had no time to change) and there bumblebee works without problems using binary nVidia driver. Any idea? There are several bug reports about similar problems but they are a bit confusing. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
